EL CAMINO DE BRAM-COR HACIA LOS OBJETIVOS DE LA UNESCO

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes international collaboration in the fields of education, science, culture, and communication, with the aim of fostering peace, sustainable development, and intercultural dialogue.

UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global objectives designed to achieve a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous world by 2030. UNESCO supports these goals primarily through education, science, culture, and communication.

Several goals are particularly relevant to the industrial sector and for BRAM-COR sustainability and environmental policy:

    •    Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
Promotes healthy lives and well-being for all. For industry, this means ensuring safe working conditions, reducing occupational hazards, and minimizing industrial pollution that can harm public health. Companies are encouraged to prioritize employee well-being and contribute to healthier communities.

    •    Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Aims to ensure access to reliable, sustainable, and modern energy. Industries play a key role by improving energy efficiency, investing in renewable energy sources, and reducing dependency on fossil fuels to lower their environmental impact.

    •    Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Focuses on building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation. It encourages industries to embrace advanced technologies and cleaner production methods.

    •    Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Encourages sustainable use of resources, waste reduction, and environmentally friendly production cycles. Industries are expected to adopt circular economy principles and transparent supply chains.

THE EUROPEAN ESG TARGETS

The European Union promotes ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles to guide sustainable and responsible business practices. ESG criteria are central to the EU’s Green Deal and Sustainable Finance Agenda, aiming to align economic activities with long-term sustainability.

1. Environmental (E)
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions (EU Climate Law: climate neutrality by 2050) - Promote clean energy, circular economy, and resource efficiency - Protect biodiversity and natural ecosystems - Ensure sustainable use of land, water, and raw materials.

2. Social (S)
Ensure fair labor practices and workers’ rights - Promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities - Improve health and safety in the workplace - Strengthen consumer protection and community engagement

3. Governance (G)
Promote corporate transparency and accountability - Strengthen anti-corruption measures and ethical business conduct - Improve board diversity and stakeholder engagement - Ensure companies disclose ESG risks and impacts

At BRAM-COR we are working towards greater sustainability of our processes, with  the objective of reducing the environmental and social impact of our activities.

To this end, BRAM-COR

- has assessed the ESG risk analysis related to BRAM-COR activities;

- provides annual monitoring of company consumptions;

- has developed its environmental policy, code of ethics, suppliers’ code of conduct;

- uses green energy;

- promotes a circular economy through recycling/reuse of its production waste;

- promotes compliance to national and European ESG regulations;

- trains BRAM-COR employees and collaborators to respect the environment and avoid waste of resources;

- submits its ESG documentation to the annual ECOVADIS rating.

At BRAM-COR we strive for greater sustainability of our products with research and development activities aimed at

1.       monitoring the consumptions of BRAM-COR equipment through in-line Process Analytical Technologies;

2.       reducing the consumptions of BRAM-COR equipment by selecting and testing new components;

3.       reporting the environmental impact of BRAM-COR equipment in terms of Carbon Footprint according to ISO 14067.

BRAM-COR UMS (Utilities-Monitoring-System)

With respect to UNESCO 7,9,12 Goals and ESG point 1, BRAM-COR presents its newmonitoring system for its water treatment equipment. This system, including in-line sensors, special hardware components and a dedicated software, displays equipment consumption (water, energy, steam, chilled water) in real time or at selectable time intervals, thus facilitating reporting on the environmental impact of the generator.
